Our guiding principle “simplicity is perfection" , “form and function should be one, joined in spiritual union”The designers i admire most are gustuv stickley, george nakashima, wharton esherick and frank loyd wright, thier combined works spanning over a century to me represent the highest ideals of design and craftsmenship.Wrights quote about furniture being of the building rather then objects placed upon it has always stuck with me. Esherick would not design a table before understanding where and how it would be used. For nakashima the spiritual journey and his passion to give trees a second life never fail to inspire.my first furniture pieces were directly inpired by gustav stickley and my love of quartersawn oak has only grown stronger.They all gave great prefrence to local woods over exotics and shared a great respect for nature and the trees.
